"...Don't lean on me man,
Cause you can't afford the
ticket
I'm back from suffragette city
Oh don't lean on me man
Cause you ain't got time to check
it
You know my suffragette city
Is outta sight...she's all right...
Ohhh, wham bam thank you maam!..."
- Selected partial lyrics from the
song, "Suffragette City", performedby
David Bowie on his album "The Rise
and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the
Spiders from Mars" (1972).
To All,
Given the trends from recent polls, it may just be that the Lady From
Chappaqua will have the last laugh...
Paging
Dr. Mengele:
Andrew McCarthy's article at today's National Review website, on Barack
Obama's previous vote to permit infanticide in cases of unwanted children
who somehow "...cling to life...", despite being subjected to a late
term induced abortion, begs the question of abortion statistics and
demographics in the Land of Lincoln.
The Illinois Department of Public Health reports that in 2006, there were
some 46,467 reported induced pregnancy terminations in that state. Of these,
some 3,940 were from women coming from out of state to have the procedure in
Illinois, and another 2,115 cases where original state of residence was not
known or reported (How many of these may be out-of-state-teens being brought
in by Planned Parenthood is unknown at press time.).
What is broken out by IDPH for 2006 is that out of the 46,467 induced
abortions, some 3,157 involved teens under or at the age of 17 years. As a
point of comparison, these teen cases are roughly equivalent to the number
of firearms-related homicides for the entire state of California (gang
killings included), and the entire number of reported abortions for Illinois
in 2006 is roughly 50% higher than the entire number of all firearms-related
deaths nationwide (suicides included).
Further analysis of IDPH numbers for 2006 reveal that nearly half of all
induced abortions performed in Illinois were performed in, and reported by,
Cook County(22,961). Wikipedia (take it or leave it) reports that the county
seat, the city of Chicago, comprises some 54% of the population of Cook
County, with some 26.14% of Chicago's population being African American.
One could surmise that if the number of induced abortions were proportional
to the ethnic break outs of Chicago, some 6,000 or so of these were induced
abortions of "brothers" and "sisters" performed on African American females
from all age groups. Of course, economic factors related to lower income
females may make this number substantially different.
Whether Candidate Obama continues to maintain that these induced abortions
are really being carried out to prevent the "punishment" of women subject to
circumstances most unfair, or simply to satisfy an interest group more
intent upon the effect of eugenics than it's moral justification, is still
unknown. What can be told is that a politician who would countenance such a
form of state-sponsored infanticide as previously practiced by such
pro-slavery political units as the city-state of Sparta may be too behind
the times of Enlightenment philosophy as to be entrusted with the reigns of
power. Suffice it to say that if Candidate Obama continues to countenance
the premature termination of the lives of future voters and constituents,
pre- or post- delivery, he will only do harm to the very basis of a Bill of
Rights he allegedly supports. That would be a bad thing, and unacceptable
from someone who purports to support the Constitution.

Brother,
Where Art Thou?:
Stefanie Balogh writes at the Sydney Herald Sun about the recent discovery
of yet another step-sibling of Barack Obama being found in difficult
circumstances.
In this case, George Hussein Onyango Obama has been found living in a shack
near Nairobi, apparently on an income of about a dollar a day.
Whether this story truly highlights the kinds of difficulties pointed out by
Ayan Hirsi Ali related to Muslim polygamy (and highlighted in the current
controversies related to the FLDS in Arizona and Texas), or is simply a tale
of someone who is "outta sight, outta mind", it will be interesting to see.
If Candidate Obama will tweak his charitable deductions levels this year by
contributing the monetary equivalent of 10 minutes of fuel consumption of
"O-Force One" (about $ 1000) so that his step-brother may have a hot meal
and live in a room larger than that of a coffee can, perhaps then one may be
able to give credence to Obama's sincerity as a Christian.

The
Cycle of Birth and Death:
Blogger Jeff Schreiber at America's Right.com is reporting that a
prominent Hillary! supporter is suing in the Federal Eastern District of
Pennsylvania to get an injunction stopping the Obama Candidacy over
"irregularities" in Obama's birth records and eligibility to run for the
Presidency.
Phillip Berg is described by Schreiber as a former gubernatorial and
senatorial candidate in Pennsylvania, as well as being a former Deputy
Attorney General of Pennsylvania.
In other words, what had previously been the sole province of "right wing
bloggers" has now been morphed into an actual lawsuit by a Democrat Party
member more than a tad peeved in the idea that The Callow One is about to
garner the Donkey Party's Nod to Greatness.
At this time, there appears to be no reaction from Governor Rendell's
office.
One of the interesting aspects in this case is that, if true, the Dems may
be "stuck" choosing a runner-up who is still apparently more than 20 million
samolians in the hole. If Obama is disqualified through such an issue as
constitutionally-mandated birth requirements, it is also likely that a large
portion of the Democrat Party will be "miffed" that their guy did not
continue to get the kind of pass that he has been accustomed to since he
entered politics. One cannot speak to the merits of a case that has some
strange similarities to the current controversy over the Chinese Women's
Gymnastics team. Suffice it to say that one is going back to Costco to get a
pallet's worth of Jiffy Pop. Stay tuned.
